• A fuming tear came to his eye, but Rale tried to keep quiet. He knew his father had just been killed, and he knew the killer was upstairs. Yet one thing constantly struck his mind. Why is there armor and a sword down here? Father couldn't be some legendary warrior, right? Then he heard the door close. He let out a deep held breath. It quivered, as did his vioce, as he started to cry. Then something caught the corner of his eye. He wiped his face and walked over to a small, round table. By the the torchlight, he saw a piece of parchment. It read: " My Son, if you have found this something terrible has happened to me. But it's time I told you the truth. I haven't been a farmer all my life. In my younger years, I served King Mithrisk as his head gaurd. I went to quite a few battles with him. When your mother died, I had to retire to raise you. In the bottom of the chest, there is a magic pouch. One of my old friends was a Magus. He enchanted it for me. It should hold everything in this room. Be careful with the sword it is Lightreaver, the Godsword. Do NOT let it in in the wrong hands. Its true power unlocked, the world would be filled with chaos. Beside this note is a map. Follow it east, to the river. There should be a shack there, my old friend Argos lives there. He will tell you what to do." Rale shook his head, that was a little much. Not only was his father one of the greatest warriors to ever live, he had a Godsword! He immediately started digging in the chest. Soon he found a pouch, no bigger than his hand, that had a gold sygnia on it. He started scooping gold into the pouch, and suprisingly, it all fit! He walked over to the armor and put the pouch next to it. It immediately was sucked in. Then, he walked over to the sword . He decided to put it it on his belt. Who knew what dangers he could run into! Rale walked outside , closing his eyes to avoid seeing his father's corpse. A fter a brief look at his map, Rale set down the road, his destiny awaiting him.
