"Too cold." He muttered under his breath, the fog extending upward like a small cloud of words.
I shook my head stiffly, gazing downwards at the building. Humans had such a...strange way of dealing with things.
"It's too cold out here, Mira," He growled once more, angry words joining the clouds above.
"Stop complaining. We're here for a reason, you idiot." I shot back stubbornly, tipping my hat off my head.
"And I still don't know that reason. Let's just get out of here and get back Up..." Yore sighed, stretching his camouflaged wings. They took different perspective as he moved them, blending into the metal scape of the building top we were perched upon. They shifted back when he moved again. "It's too freaking cold to be watching the stupid humans in the middle of their November anyway."
"Well then, shut your whiny mouth and go home." I retorted, giving him a push.
Yore was caught off balance and he fell off the building, taking a moment to catch himself and swoop effortlessly back up. He scowled as he came up in front of me, pushing my head back with the heel of his palm on my forehead.
"Okay, I'm going to say this once, and only once. We're. Going. Home. NOW." Yore said sternly.
I stuck my tongue out at him--he was never serious, even when he looked and talked seriously. Stupid Yore. "And I'll tell you once. Go drown in a pond."
He set his jaw angrily, turning away. "Alright, fine. Just for that, I will."
"Oh yeah, like that'll work. Not caring, Yore," I called back, shaking my foot at him. "Not like you can actually die again."
"Oh yeah, you wanna bet?" Yore shot back, throwing me a harsh glare. "Just watch me."
He finished, losing altitude quickly as his wings absently folded up on the side of his arms, which he folded across his chest.
I sighed; Yore was stupid enough to actually find a way to kill an angel. Idiot. I had to dive after him, swimmer-style, before the stupid boy could lose his head on a street pole or something like that.
"Yore," I yelled after him, the sight of his blond hair slowly fading away into the sea of people underneath, on the crowded street going their busy ways through their busy lives.
"You know I was just kidding, you idiot! Get back here!"
Yore reached one hand up and threw the bird at me.
I scowled; that was very un-Yore-like. Maybe this time I really did tick him off greatly.
So much for a usual day at the office.
--So, it's just a start of something I might consider finishing, if there's good word about it. So...?-
