A picture of yourself? First off, This isn't facebook or myspace or something like that.
Second, Candid shots always look better. Incase I misspelt candid or you don't understand it, its a picture of someone when they are off guard. Pictures like those show the person inside, and when you take a picture like that in black and white, it focuses more on the person or object and brings a stronger emotional response out of the viewer.
