Since both my tablet and art program broke I've been forced to draw traditionally. This is my first time trying to shade with a pencil. I didn't have any good pencil at my disposal so I had to use a regular HB pencil, mechanical HB 0.7 pencil and mechanical HB 0.5 pencil. This is also the first picture where I used smudging.
Anyway, critique is welcome since I really hope to improve. : ) - Date: 09/18/2011

The hair needs lighter values in some areas.
You could clean off your eraser and do the lighting on the hair that way.
But you did awesome on the face, and I love realism. It's my favorite. c: - Report As Spam
