- Yeah. Isn't that what he went by at some ball or party or something so people wouldn't know his real name? Also his name wasn't really Dracula either. That was a nickname given to him. His real name was Vlad Tepes aka Vlad the Impaler bka Count Vlad Dracula and he wasn't a vampire either. The real inspiration for the Dracula character was a Countess named Elizabeth Bathory who would bathe in the blood of young maidens to maintain her youth.
