Description:
This is the portrait of a boy named David. Oils on stretched linen canvas. (c) 2009 Arran Walker.
I know the ref pic looks bad, but I had to take a pic of a photo with my camera phone. The tiny original ref photo was all smudged, anyway.... - Date: 01/27/2009

- Binxx The Cat, it must be because of the smirk, maybe even the tilt of the head. However, these are simply straight from the photo it's based on.

- This is my first ever human portrait in oils, and yes I think the shading is weird, too, but the client who commissioned it loves the work. The shirt is so dark (indigo) because the client wanted me to paint it just as it appeared in the reference photo. If it had been up to me the shirt would have been a slightly lighter blue, too. So, yeah, good comments.

I agree with you, it need more texture on the shirt but over all, it's pretty nice.
Good job ne. ^-^
