try and talk about exactly what you like about the
picture; is it the hair? the eyes? the
background?
if you are critiquing, start with
something you like about the picture, then mention
specifically what you don't like. (eg. the hair is

i love the different hues of blues...I think this

The colors, lines, proportions, and lighting are
good. But that position is insanely awkward. Why
is he holding a rapier like that? That's not how
you hold a rapier. It looks like he's hiding it,
but then he's looking back that way... it's a bit
